3 mix a vinegar solution. These substances will dissolve the polymer compounds in chewing gum reducing its sticky properties so it will be easy to remove the chewing gum from the carpet. Use the side of a fork to lightly scrape the carpet back and forth. You may need to apply more wd 40 to the carpet to get all of the gum out of it.

Step 5 after the gum is completely removed wash the area with warm soapy water to get any oil that is left in the carpet. This will harden the gum so it s easier to remove gum from carpet. The dry powder helps pull the dirt and soil out of the carpet. Just be careful not to spread the gum to surrounding carpet.

You may also apply a dry cleaning solution citrus based degreaser or mineral alcohol to chewing gum. For the total removal of a dried gum from the carpet use a knife or ordinary spoon. Allow it to crack and break into fragments and remove as much as possible. Make sure you cover the gum and all around the edges.

Close and seal it tight to avoid leaking water as the ice melts. I had a berber carpet and i used ice. Step 3 use the prongs of the fork to gently lift the dented carpet. Gently lift the gum up off of the carpet fibers with a scraping motion.

You hold a big cube of ice on the gum for a few minutes then the gum will break and you can pick it off the carpet. Use a scraping tool to fully scrape the gum from the carpet. Step 4 using a metal spatula or butter knife slowly start to scrape the gum off the carpet. Follow the instructions on the cleaner to determine how much you should use on your carpet.

To freeze the gum out of your carpet grab a few ice cubes from the freezer and place them in a zip loc bag. After this time the gum should be frozen enough and you can start breaking it out. Do this until the fibers become springy and start standing upright. Put the bag of ice directly onto the gum stain.

You can use a fingernail brush to help scrape the loosened gum from the carpet. Direct the wd 40 toward the gum itself and give it a few minutes to soak in and loosen the gum. Step 3 soak the gum with oil by blotting it with the cloth. Place the ice bag directly on the gum in your carpet and wait 5 10 minutes.

Use a butter knife or metal spatula to scrape the frozen gum off the carpet. Otherwise i use oxy clean and it works. Vacuum your carpet before you apply the powder.
