Genie Garage Door Will Not Close All The Way

Genie garage door will not close all the way.

The door won t close all the way if the bolt is too high on the track. Replace the wiring if needed with garage door opener wiring. Staples can cut insulation and short out the wires. If the problem persists check to see if the red safe t beam led indicator is blinking.

If one of them is off or blinking it means the invisible beam that tells the opener that the way is. Something blocking the door. Locate them and determine if they are out of alignment. Genie openers apply only limited force to the garage door during closing.

The problem is either due to a blocked path between the sensors dirty eyes loose wires at the sensors or at the motor head or just bad sensors. Check for reversed broken or cut wires. Though this problem should be obvious it shouldn t be overlooked. If there s something blocking the door from closing all the way a full close will be impossible.

Your garage door opener may tell you this by showing a blinking light. For series ii wall console you can remove the wires from the back of the wall console and touch them together to see if the garage door moves. Step 4 turn the close force dial in small increments until the garage door reaches the ground when you hit the close button on the remote. They both have lights and both lights should be on.

The transmitters remotes will not work to close the garage door. If it is be sure that the lenses are mounted five to six inches from the floor on either side of the garage door opening.
